So, in the absence of being able to compile a database due to federal law, the agents will go and “ask” (read: coerce) the gun store owners for access to the sales records. Maybe if we truly secured our borders and stopped the charade of securing them these types of issues would die of their own accord?? I’m not saying that there isn’t a problem with guns making their way into the hands of criminals both in the U.S. or Mexico but in that case, when someone is found to have broken the law by doing this PUT THEM IN JAIL FOR A LONG TIME. Make the punishment for the crime so harsh that people will fear being caught and not want to even think about committing the crime! (and don’t neuter the penalties or plead that economic conditions drove them to it… that just isnt going to fly anymore.)
