Does our government think everyone is just plain stupid? Where is this money going to be coming from? I understand the need for the FDIC, Im not saying to let it perish, but maybe, just maybe, if we had allowed the companies that are leaching from the coffers of the federal government (Citi, AIG, etc..) to go under AND if the government hadn’t required banks to lend to those who normally wouldn’t be allowed to (Thanks Bill Clinton!) odds are we wouldn’t be in such bad shape at the moment. Not saying that we wouldn’t be here, but we might not be so deep in the hole if they hadn’t happened in the first place.
