It was nearly two weeks ago that the House of Representatives, acting in a near-frenzy after the disclosure of bonuses paid to executives of AIG, passed a bill that would impose a 90 percent retroactive tax on those bonuses. …
    So now, the Treasury Secretary has control over the salaries of ALL employees of any company receiving bailout funds. How is this NOT socialism? When the government is dictating what employees can make you have socialism at its finest. This country needs to wake up fast and realize that our liberties are quickly being stripped away from us faster than we can realize!!!

    Just a quick notice from your friendly neighborhood computer geek. This April 1st, there is a virus/worm scheduled to attempt to wreak havoc across the internet. Conficker is a new worm going around (with several variants) and you need to make sure your virus protection/malware protection is up to date and checking. Also, make sure you run Windows Update and apply all of the latest security updates to make sure you are protected as well.

    I wonder how long it will take for this kind of scenario to ripple through the rest of the economy. Jobs are being lost, home values are declining, and the outlook doesnt appear to be getting any better. Im wondering when the gas prices, food prices and other assorted consumable prices will begin to adjust? Without those adjustments this situation will only get worse and will begin to lead to even more widespread monetary issues within the populace.

I hope the economic standard of supply and demand kicks in soon and prices adjust across the board. Otherwise, there are forces outside the markets which are keeping prices artificially inflated and those types of issues need to be addressed quickly.

The federal government plans to block public access to its records of aircraft and bird collisions such as the one that forced a US Airways jet to splashdown in New York’s Hudson River in January.
    As a passenger of numerous flights this year and probably over 500 or more in my lifetime, I want to know about birdstrikes and other calamities that involve airplanes and air travel. I may not want to know about *every* incident, but if I desire, I would like to be able to do a little research into this stuff at my leisure. Now it seems that some bureaucrat is trying to take that possibility away from me. Why would releasing this data prompt airports to make reports? Is it really like most of America has a choice of airports when they travel? Will it really make that much of a difference.

I smell something here and it most definitely isn’t a pleasant odor…
